Bill was voted the winner of the 2014 Jim Wiser Award by society members.The award is
named in honor of our late member Jim Wiser for his artistry and craftmanship in his life
time creation of over forty shipmodels. Bill Strachan has certainly carried on this tradition in his
two year project of building the Florida sternwheeler Thomas A. Edison. Congradulations Bill.

Al Saubermann and HMS Berbice(1780). Al used the Hahn method of construction. The scale is 1/4"=1'. Cherry was the choice of wood for the construction of the hull. The deck is Holly. Built from Chapelle's Search for Speed Under Sail.

Nic Damuck's Completion of the steam sloop USS Hartford. Nic completed this model for a customer. It was started by the customer's father in the late 1930s while in his teens. When he was drafted into WWII the model was put in storage and never completed. When Nic received it for completion, the hull was sound but in need of a good cleaning. After cleaning Nic finished installing deck fittings, erected the masts and completed the rigging. A really great restoration job by a pro.
